While Afghan women are still burning in the flame of fundamentalism, OPAWC celebrated 8th of March (The International Women's Day) in Kabul in front of two thousand people to show that at least there are small number of women struggling through various programs to empower themselves, such drops gives half part of the community a hope for better future. OPAWC always gives priority to women's issues, and struggle to empower women through education and enhancement of their capabilities and help them to free themselves from domination.
OPAWC believes that women must lead this struggle by themselves and must be empowered in order to accomplish this mission. Most agendas were performed by students of Literacy and Handicrafts; they sang patriotic songs, performed speeches and showed a marvelous drama which was just expressing the real condition of women in Afghanistan.The audience included people from all sectors of the capital city, as well as people from such nation as Japan, Italy and the Germany. Some of the quests performed speeches such as Bulgis Roshan (Senator of Mishran Girga or higher house of parliament), Saifallah Saihoon (instructor in the Faculty of Economy), Mr. Sabit (Member of Civil society) and Dr. Agmal (Director of Afghan Youth Foundation).
